Description:
General Job Description:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining effective and efficient manufacturing processes to support the Machine Shop and Assembly Shop with machining and assembly of a wide variety of components and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Generate machining programs for CNC machining centers including turning, milling, grinding, and gear shaping.
- Select and specify tooling packages for all machine shop operations.
- Review existing manufacturing processes and develop new manufacturing methods to keep our manufacturing capabilities current and optimized.
- Perform job costing analysis and ensure cost effectiveness of manufacturing.
- Perform time and motion analysis studies.
- Recommend capital equipment and lead a team effort to research, prepare, and present cost / benefit analysis.
- Initiate and lead long term planning for future projects and technologies.
- Mentor Manufacturing Engineering and ship personnel as required.
- Support efforts and projects of peer Manufacturing Engineers as required.
- Work closely with Design Engineering to review new product concepts and designs for manufacturability.
- Troubleshoot production floor issues effectively and timely.
- Provide technical support to outside machining and assembly suppliers as required.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies and manufacturing practices to increase company efficiencies.
- This position will require daily interaction with other departments and outside suppliers in support of operations.
Requirements:
Education:
- Four year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Experience & Other Requirements:
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in a production manufacturing environment.
- In-depth experience designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling CAD software.
- Proficient developing CNC programs using Mastercam or equivalent CAM software.
- Highly experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite to create documentation, spreadsheets, and databases to support Manufacturing operations.
- Proven experience developing machining processes for aluminum and ductile castings and a variety of alloy steels.
- In-depth knowledge of typical inspection gages, CMM’s, and inspection methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, heat treating, welding, and machine operation.
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and SPC concepts.
- Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess excellent attention and respect for detail.

Description:
General Job Description
Based out of Newtown, PA, the initial phase will focus heavily on training and applying expertise alongside other Sales Engineers and our Applications team. This will include sales activities, installation support, field troubleshooting, remote support from our office, and attending trade shows. As competencies develop, these responsibilities will be completed without any direct supervision.
The job will then evolve into ownership for all Sales related activity in a multi-state territory in TBD. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Grow the revenue from an existing domestic customer base through an established sales process including, but not limited to, targeted sales visits with regular telephone and email contact.
- Expand the customer base through prospect conversion to new end-users. Add prospective candidates through customer references, trade shows, and telephone cold calls. Convert prospects through a multi-call sales cycle using actuator demonstration and cost-benefit data to build pro-Beck justification.
- Support customers and prospects through site visits for the purpose of educating plant personnel, reviewing applications, and determining proper sizing and selection of Beck actuators.
- Provide start-up assistance and training to ensure proper installation and operation of Beck actuators.
- Develop and utilize a working knowledge of the industries served by Beck, the process applications where Beck actuators are used and why they’re used.
- Perform an annual territory sales forecast and provide regular updates on projects and sales group initiatives in Salesforce.com.
- Complete a call report for each sales visit with details on progress made, action plans and competitive information/market intelligence gathered.

- Safely and proficiently setup, prove-out, program, and operate CNC lathes, and/or milling machines, grinders, and gear shapers.
- Ensure accuracy, revision level and validity of paperwork, documentation and inspection tools prior to starting a job.

- 7 - 10 years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in setting up and operating the following manual machines: Engine lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, gear shapers, honing machines, drill press, ID grinder, surface grinder, tool grinders, band saws, and welding equipment.
- 7 – 10 years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in setting up, proving out, and operating CNC turning, and/or milling, grinding, and gear shaping equipment, including making program edits and tool offsets and compensations.
- Must be able to work independently from blue prints, sketches, oral, or written instructions without supervision or technical guidance.
- Must have the skills, ability, and desire to serve as a mentor for shop personnel as needed.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of typical shop inspection equipment such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators, bore gages, CMM’s, and be proficient with all inspection methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), metal cutting principles, tooling, and thread nomenclature is required.
- Must be proficient in Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. Mechanical Drafting and Computer skills in CAD and Solid Works are beneficial.
